Google is an innovator, apple is a big bully because they think they can outmuscle google which is the main proponent for android. Apple hates android for being easy to use and proving to be a cheaper and better alternative.

@jan That really was a waste of a comment. Where’s the substance in your statements? You have no side by side comparisons – you’re just ranting for the sake of ranting (or maybe because you simply hate Apple for no other reason than they exist and they make lots of money).

If you could be bothered to take some time and do a little research you’ll find that Google and Apple have pretty much the same operating models. For the sake of simplicity, I’ll bring it down to the base level: both companies want to shaft whoever stands in their way. Don’t believe me? Have a look round the web for Steve Jobs opinion on Android. Yeah, he hated the OS but for a number of valid reasons e.g. Eric Schwartz allegedly stole the idea whilst simultaneously sitting on the boards of both Google and Android.

Now research Larry Page. In particular, his views on privacy i.e. if you don’t want people to know about you don’t put info on the web. Then look at what happened when a number of websites referenced personal information about Page using…. information that was freely available on the web. C&D letters were flying left right and centre.

Here’s another point to think about. Let’s say you build a really awesome piece of computer software. Then another company comes along and builds an add-on that harvests user data, metrics, etc. Would you simply say, ‘Yeah, that’s fine. You can have all my customers data”?. Probably not. Well, not unless you want your business to start losing a lot of custom because your competitor is using data harvested from your devices to provide a more relevant service than you can.
