If you use social media as a broadcast channel to only share your content you will not be successful. You should actually share more of other people’s content rather than your own as long as you find really good content to share.
In this article we outline 5 tools that will help you find and share great content to your followers which will help significantly to increase your value to your community which in turn means you will be more successful.
1. Use Postplanner for Facebook
Postplanner is an application that sits within Facebook and takes care of all your Facebook content sharing needs. As well as sharing your own content you can easily add content from other sources and publish this content at pre-scheduled times.
For example, if there are a selection of Facebook pages that provide great content that is suitable to your audience you can add these pages to Postplanner. When they post new content you can view this content without leaving postplanner and automatically share out on your Facebook page.
You can also do the same with websites that have blog content.
If you still don’t have enough content Postplanner provides thousands of suggested status updates you can share which you can share for using their categories. This is very useful if you’re not sure what works on Facebook or just having one of those moments where you are struggling for an idea.
2. Share content on Google + using Do Share
There are limited tools available that allow you to schedule content for delivery to your Google + personal profile. This means you have to login in to Google + several times a day and share out content manually. This is another task on your long list that won’t always get done.
Do Share is plugin you install on your chrome browser and this lets you schedule content to be shared out on Google +. The only requirement is that your browser has to be open when the time comes around to share.
3. Create boards within Scoop.it
Scoop.it is a content curation platform where you can follow boards which is a collection of different articles curated by an individual. You just need to find someone that is trustworthy that has a created a board with content that you like to share. This can be a great source of content and as you get to know people on Scooop.it you’ll find plenty of great content.
Scoop.it is also great for sending you traffic to your site because you can also create a board and populate this board with your articles and other relevant articles. You then build a following and this leads to more traffic to your site.
4. Get content delivered to you by Newsle
Newsle tracks the people you are connected with and emails you of details when they are in the news. So maybe you want to track potential customers and share out when they are in the news or track influencers that you want to develop relationships with. The following shows news that was picked up by Newsle that I probably would not have come across. Newsle picked it up because I am connected to Connor through LinkedIn.
5. Monitor conversations with Mention
Mention is an excellent monitoring tool where you can track conversations on the web or social media and get notifications in relation to these ‘mentions’.
If you want to source content related to a topic relevant to your brand or service you can set this up within mention. This is not a curated list but instead it’s a catch all. You can quickly navigate through the content and pick out what is most relevant to you. This is useful so you don’t miss anything related to your product or service and you want to find great content to share.
